TYPES OF AFRICA SAFARIS

Africa is not a package tour destination. The Classic African traveler prefers a customized itinerary that is tailored to their own interests and time frame for travel.

ALL our custom safaris are ALL INCLUSIVE of Fly In-Drive to destination/camp, accommodation, 2 guided safaris daily, food, et al.

Fly In - guests are flown in between destinations to the luxury lodges or permanent tented camps, maximizing time on safaris and destinations.

Fly-Drive - drive between camps where feasible, and fly when the drives are too long and/or unproductive. This combination maximizes their cost effectiveness. Accommodation can be in both permanent tented and mobile tented camps/lodges.

Drive Overland / Hemingway style - mobile camps, under canvas with all the comforts, luxury or moderate.

LUXURY ACCOMMODATIONS & PERMANENT TENTED CAMPS

AFRICA WILD meets LUXURY in a stunning juxtaposition.

"Camps" refer to location , to uniquely selected, pristine and secluded locations where either lodges or permanently tented camps have been built. They include all the amenities imaginable and more.

Two levels-Premium or Classic. See below

All luxury lodges and permanent tented camps include En-suite, bath, toilet and shower and are ALL INCLUSIVE of Fly In-Drive to destination/camp, accommodation, guided safaris daily, food, et al.

Mobile Camps/camping, are small tents taken to selected camp sites some remote some in game reserves. Basic and comfortable. Moderate to luxury.

Premium Camps - These camps feature prime locations and employ some of the best guides. They are closer to civilization, internet, phone etc. The camps themselves are extremely stylish and luxurious in the greatest of comfort and style and most with swimming pool and/or private plunge pool.

Premium Lodges and Permanent Tented

Classic Camps - Although not quite as luxurious as the Premium Camps, these are nevertheless extremely comfortable camps designed to fit aesthetically into the environment.

They present vast wilderness areas, remote and pristine destinations. Unfenced, unmanaged, self-sustaining ecosystems.

Features include very large, spacious tents with real beds, full en suite facilities, and electrical power. The camps are typically raised on wooden walkways to ensure guest safety while allowing animals to wander freely through camps.

Classic Camps Permanent Tented

In All Camps, often each dwelling, has a private security person to usher you to and from the main reception and dining area, as it has been known for an elephant or two to enjoy the "privilege" of using the swimming pool or a giraffe to nibble on the foliage outside your window. If this makes you a little nervous, we also have properties contained by an electric fence.

Mobile Camping - Drive overland and mobile tented camps for the most authentic and original safari exploration. The way it was in the beginning with no luxury. Assistant sets up tents daily from location to location. Basic but comfortable, with good food. Two categories, moderate and luxury photos.
