ITINERARY

  1. Day 1: Welcome in Laos Thai/Lao Border Huay Xai - Pakbeng
    Pick up from Huay Xai (on border) River journey on the majestic Mekong in one of the traditional slow boats. The first evening arrival in Pakbeng - Overnight in Pakbeng
  2. Day 2: Pakbeng - Luang Prabang world heritage town
    Transfer on Mekong on traditional slow boat to Pak Ou Caves and further on to wolrd heritage town of Luang Prabang - Pick up service - Overnight in Luang Prabang Hotel
  3. Day 3: Luang Prabang active sightseeing by bike
    After sitting in a boat for 2 days the right way to explore this wonderful place is a bike. Full day sightseeing in Luang Prabang temples, monasteries and highlights. Overnight in Luang Prabang
  4. Day 4: Luang Prabang - waterfalls, villages and Eco-Lodge
    A day around town with some great nature highlights. Morning visit to Kuang Si waterfall and villages along the way. After lunch we start (optional by bike) to our Jungle Resort 15 km out of town.
  5. Day 5 : Luang Phabang - Eco Lodge, choose Elephant tour, Trekking or Kayaking
    Wake up in beautiful nature setting and take the chance to see Elephants getting washed in the river. During the day you have the choice of more than 4 programs. Go on a full day trek, ride the Elephants or combine your choice with an afternoon kayaking.
  6. Day 6: Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - afternoon walking
    Transfer from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng - Sceneries, beautiful Landcapes and village visits along the way. Overnight in Vang Vieng
  7. Day 7: Vang Vieng - Vientiane
    Sightseeing in Vang Vieng (incl. Tham Chang and Tham Xang Caves) - By vehicle from Vang Vieng to Vientiane - Overnight in Vientiane
  8. Day 8: Vientiane - a sleepy capital
    Today we take the time to discover the most important highlights in the capital town of Laos. National monuments, the famous Pha Tat Luang, Ho Pha Keo and other monasteries and sights. Full day sightseeing in Vientiane - Overnight in Vientiane
  9. Day 9: Vientiane - Pakse - Tad Lo - Waterfall
    Transfer - Flight from Vientiane to Pakse - By vehicle from Pakse to the Tad Lo where an overnight stop near the waterfalls is arranged. - Overnight in Tad Lo
  10. Day 10: Tad Lo - Pakse - Khong Island (four thousand islands)
    In the morning we go out to see some villages and sights around around Tad Lo - By vehicle from Tad Lo to Pakse further on via Wat Phu Temple to Khong Island - Overnight in Khong Island
  11. Day 11: Khong Island - Khon Island
    By boat on the wide Mekong from Khong Island to Khon Island. Here we can learn about history and the bizarre landscape.
    Ban Khon village and the remote khmer temple Wat Khon Tai are on our program today. Li Phi waterfalls are visited on our tour as well - Overnight in Khon Island
  12. Day 12: Khon Island - Pakse
    A wonderful pleasure trip to the massive Khon Phapheng Waterfalls - By vehicle from Khon Island to Pakse - Overnight in Pakse
  13. Day 13: Pakse
    Transfer to Airport or over the Thai border to Ubon Ratchantani

CAPITALS OF LAOS

The three ancient Kingdoms of Laos - Luang Prabang, Vientiane and Pakse. This journey to the ancient capitals can be easily complemented with a visit to the spectacular temples of Angkor in Cambodia.

THE PLAIN OF JARS

The Plain of Jars, in north-east Laos, is one of the most enigmatic archeological sites in the world: Theories compete to explain the origin of the jars. This remote region is full of interest for the traveller - ethnic minority peoples, hilly landscapes, thermal hot springs, ancient history along a more recent war history

BIKING, TREKKNG, HIKING, RAFTING AND KAYAKING

Trekking, biking, hiking, rafting and kayaking - all combinations of multi-activity adventure can be experienced throughout the entirety of the country.

Pedal through and around the world heritage site of the capital of Laos, Luang Prabang or ride to Udomxai, Luang Namtha, Muang Sing and Xieng Kok, along the Mekong.

A multi-activity adventure in Laos could include kayaking in the 4,000 Islands area of the Mekong River or along the spectacular Nam Ou and Nam Hinbourne rivers in northern and central Laos.

White-water rafting enthusiasts should try the area around Vang Vieng, or the base of the mighty Mekong, the biggest and widest river in South-East Asia.

Hikers will enjoy climbing Mount Konglo, trekking through the pine forests of the Bolavens Plateau or exploring the remote hill-tribe villages of the Golden Triangle.

Try biking the scenic route from Luang Namtha to Phongsali in northern Laos, or all the way into neighbouring Cambodia or Vietnam. Or travel to the far South of Laos where you will explore the unrivalled remote districts such as Takhek, Savannakhet, Pakse, Tad Fan and Don Khone Island

CLASSIC  CYCLE TOUR

8 days: Luang Prabang - Vientiane

Everyone who enjoys the combination of cycling and comfort, this is the best   in Laos. Highlights of this tour are the World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, the dramatic mountain views between Kiu Kacham and Kasi and the last but not least the amazing friendly people that you will meet on this bicycle tour will leave deep impressions.

This tour can be extended with the Northern Lope for another 6 days.

ITINERARY

  1. Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival
    Start with a meeting with our specialists and a short sunset ride along the town.

  2. Day 2: Luang Prabang: ride to Kuang Si Waterfalls 60 km
    A mainly off road ride to the scenic Kuang Si Waterfalls along etnic villages such as H'mong an Khamu. Enjoy a swim in the clear water basins of the Kuang Si Waterfalls.

  3. Day 3: Luang Prabang - transfer to Kiu Kacham - Kasi  95 Km.
    A 2 hours transfer by minivan brings you to Kiu Kacham on an altitude of 1350 meters. The first part of this stage, you cycle between 1000 and 1400 meters to Phou Khoun. After Phou Khoun a long descent with great views brings you to the valley of Kasi.

  4. Day 4: Kasi - Vang Vieng  58 km
    Today it goes through amazing scenery slowly into the lowland along rivers, limestone formations and caves.

  5. Day 5: Vang Vieng - Nam Ngum Lake 25/40 km
    First, you cross the Nam Song River for a scenic of road ride through lime stone mountains with several caves which are worth a visit. Continuing on the main road, you cycle to the 'sea of Laos': the 250 square kilometer artificial Lake Nam Ngum. A 2 hours boat ride brings you to your resort, with stunning views over the Lake.

  6. Day 6: Nam Ngum - Ban Pako 88 km
    In the first part of this stage, you have to climb a few hills that leads into scenic valleys where daily village live can be seen. The last part of this stage will bring you on undiscovered dirt roads to Ban Pako, where you stay overnight in a special location along the Nam Ngum River.

  7. Day 7: Ban Pako - Vientiane 65 km
    Continuing on dirt roads in the first part of this stage, enjoy for the last time the countryside life before entering the capital city of Laos: Vientiane. Along the suburbs, you cycle to the centre of the city, situated along the bank of the Mekong.

  8. Day 8: city ride Vientiane 15 km
    You will end this tour with a ride along the highlight of the capital city: Vat Si Saket, Ho Prakeo, Vat Si Muang, That Luang, Patuxai and finshing at the morning market for the last shopping before going home.
