Guided Custom Tours & Travel Packages to Myanmar/Burma

Burma, now called Myanmar ever since the military junta take over, exemplifies the enduring spirit of Buddhism from its inception. Anyone interested in this facet of Asia would find this force of spiritualism one that permeates even in oppressive circumstances.

Myanmar is now one of the most isolated countries in Indochina but the country is well worth the trip. You can’t deny the beauty of this place, and there is so much to see. The wondrous cities of Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and Inle Lake speak for themselves and no tour is complete without them. Or be indulgent and treat yourself to a luxury Orient Express cruise along the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) river between Bagan and Mandalay. We can also arrange flexible local river cruise itineraries on smaller boats available for private charter.

Places to Visit

Whether you’re looking for rich history, jaw-dropping views, or a cultural adventure, Myanmar is the country where you can find all three. Once you’ve finished touring Mandalay, get in a car and drive a couple of hours until you reach Pyin Oo Lwin, where the climate and scenery drastically change as you approach. A relatively quiet spot, Pyin Oo Lwin is the perfect spot to some shopping in the old shop houses, and finish the day with a ride in one of Pyin Oo Lwin’s colorful horse-drawn carriages, which is still the preferred mode of transportation here.

After Pyin Oo Lwin, get your history fix by visiting Mrauk U, which is famous for the old ruins, religious statues, and wall paintings of the 15th century Rakhine Kingdom. Today these ruins dot the landscape around the newer town of Mrauk U, and while some are crumbling, there are a significant number of temples and structures still standing.

If you’re into old structures, Mrauk U isn’t your last stop of your Myanmar tour. Pindaya is famous for its caves housing more than 8000 Buddha images and statues. Many of these images are very old, and no one knows how they got there, or why. Whatever the reason, Pindaya is a stunning sight, and the surrounding countryside is equally breathtaking. You won’t want to miss the chance to walk through the passages formed by these thousands of Buddha images.

After a few days of wandering the ruins and historic stops all around Myanmar, take some time to relax and take in some sun at Ngapali Beach, one of the best beaches in the country. With its soft white sands and untouched natural beauty, Ngapali Beach is a haven for leisure and nature. There’s no better place to enjoy the comfortable climate and stunning beauty of Myanmar.
