Singapore Custom Tours & Travel Packages
Though small, Singapore is a giant in the economic world and has been Southeast Asia’s most modern city-state for over a century. Singapore is an ultra-modern cultural and commercial city for merchants around the world. It has been at the crossroads of East and West trade since the time of Sir Edward Raffles in the colonial era.
Singapore is noted for its beautiful parks, botanical gardens and Asia’s largest aviary of over 300 species of rare and exotic birds. The Bird Show is also very unique and worthwhile to visit, as is the famous Singapore Zoo Night Safari.
And the shopping options are just as abundant as the birds! Orchard Road and Bras Basah Bugis are just a taste of what Singapore has to offer for local shopping, and is only rivaled by the food.
Having dinner in the courtyard of the Raffles Hotel with live chamber music is exquisite in the tropical setting, and is reasonably priced, too. Also worth trying are the outdoor sea food courts on the Quay or inland, combined with Little India, chinatown, and the Kampong Glam. Or try the stalls offering local delights such as Hainanese chicken rice, satay (grilled skewered meats) bee hoon and bak kut teh (pork rib soup).
For art and history, visit the country’s museums and galleries, which feature important exhibitions from around the world. The art of Singapore is unique and beautiful, with a variety of styles influencing and inspiring artists from all over.
Things to See
No Singapore trip is complete without a tour of the Gardens by the Bay, with the unmistakable Supertrees. There’s even an aerial walkway between two of these massive structures that provides a breathtaking view of the Singapore skyline. Other must-see highlights are the Flower Dome, the largest glass greenhouse in the world, and Cloud Forest, which houses the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. But these attractions are just the beginning of the ultimate Singapore experience.
After these exquisite sights, see a little more greenery by stopping by the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The gardens are best in the morning, and feature a swan lake, sculptures, and many tropical trees.
If you prefer hiking, we recommend the Bukit TImah Nature Reserve for its diverse flora and fauna and Singapore’s tallest hill.
If you have extra time in the morning or afternoon, visit the local markets and small villages if you want to try truly local cuisine or support the vendors by purchasing the many handmade wares.
And if you’re free in the winter months, Singapore’s Christmas season is supreme in wonder and splendor. The Henderson Waves structure is also unique to behold, and is best in the evenings when they’re in their brightly-lit glory.
